Turn the modem off, and then unscrew the back panel (if you've got a router with a case) using the screwdriver and pliers. Once off the back, you can remove the two screws securing the WPS button on the back of the router. They will be on either side near the WPS button. You may also find them on the bottom. Some older models will have a reset utility built into them. Usually this utility will allow you to enter a different user ID and password. Find a reputable vendor such as Samsung, Linksys, and Motorola to buy your Wi-Fi card from. Then go to the manufacturer's website and download your new Wi-Fi driver software.
If you are unable to login to your spectrum router after changing the IP addresses, you may try resetting the password. The first thing you should do when you have trouble is to press the Windows button on your keyboard and type "regedit" into the field given. You should see a window with a list of different command lines. On the "command Prompt" window, enter "regedit". On the "Command Prompt" window, you will see three different lines - the first line is the name of your Spectrum router, the second line is the entry for the command you entered (after replacing periods with dots), and the third line is the computer name for your computer. There are also dots underneath the computer name.
The command you entered should be followed by at least two exclamation marks. Click OK to reset the settings of your modem. After doing so, reboot your computer to check if the issue persists. Another way to reset the password of your modem is to connect your wireless modem to the same network as the one your phone is connected to turn on your modem with the power source.
